Silicon Carbide, sizing F14 – F220

ABRASIVE GRAINS OF SILICON CARBIDE

SIZING F14 – F220

1. Silicon Carbide is produced by reduction of silicon oxide by carbon, which is proceeding at high temperature in electrical resistant furnaces. After riddance of fine crystalic nonreactive product, silicon carbide is crushed, milled, washed in water, megnetized and sieved on abrasive grains in size of F14 - F220.

2. Chemical compound:

- is made at grain F40

3.3. Granulation

Granulation compound of grains 99 A I b F14 to F 220 has to meet requirements FEPA standard 42-D-1984. After agreement there is also a possibility to supply grainmixtures in framework of technological possibilities.

4.    Usage:
a) production of grinding tools and instruments with ceramic, resinous, magnesite, shellac and rubber binder

b) production of refractory blocks, bricks, refractory cements and compacting mixtures

c) dishing-up in drum as a free grain

d) blasing by dry and wet method

e) in electrotechnical industry for a production of insulating material and ligtning arrester

f) lappening - creation of parallel walls, flatness and exactness of mearures

g) at cutting of stones as an ingredient to laminated and frame saws

h) at cutting, grinding and polishing glass by dry and wet way

i) filling agent to an epoxy resins for increasing of resistance against wear

j) production of antislip floors and antislip tapes on stairs

k) in metallurgical industry is used as an agregat of silicon for a metal meltage
